Charlie Barrett has led a charmed life as a male model, traveling to exotic countries on some of the jobs, but after he turns thirty-three, he begins to feel bored with the lifestyle.  He knows he is getting older and doesn't want to do ads for sweaters and furniture.  He feels he should start a new career so he gets into marketing.  With some friends and several investors he starts a dot.com company.  Then two of his partners disappear with the money and the police investigate him, taking the computer and files with them.

Charlie meets Nora, a reporter, and keeps company with her while utilizing her help in searching for the missing partners.  He gets emotionally and sexually involved with her because he thinks his long time girlfriend, Lauren, has been sleeping with another man.  He continues to stay with Nora because he realizes that he really cares for her.

One of the things he doesn't understand is why the investors aren't taking him to court to recover their money.  He finds out that his father was one of the many people who had invested in his company.  In the process of trying to locate the missing partners, he meets a lot of unusual people and finds out a lot of things about himself.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about modern day technology and people who engage in unusual activities.  They should be prepared for some colorful language also.
