When it warmed to about sixty-eight degrees, shirts began to be peeled off of the construction crews backs. And it seemed right around that time, the sewing machines in her shop stopped, and grew silent. All of her girls were watching the hard-bodies next door.
At first, this didn't seem to be a problem for Annmarie and her business, but the more days the temperature rose, the less her workers worked on filing the order. Something had to be done, and quick. Annmarie was falling way behind, and at this rate, the order would not be filled in time to meet the deadline. Which meant, she'd lose the contract. That, she wasn't going to let happen. She's worked too hard to have some sweaty hot crew next door distract her girls from finishing the job, and in time.
And so she decided to go next door and talk with the foreman. Only problem with that was the foreman was the one she was secretly watching. And when she was face to face with him, to try to reason and ask for his help with the problem, it wasn't talking that they did. Far from it!
Nick Marone was her eye candy, and after the meeting, he was more and more her dream candy too. Many nights he'd sneak inside her dreams and do things to her that she really only did dare to dream about.
But, what if her dreams became reality? What could, or would she do then?
She couldn't have a relationship with Nick, not after the long talk with her girls about how oogling over the men had interfered in the production to fulfill the contract. No, she couldn't allow that to happen, not now, not ever.
Nick on the other hand, had other ideas. Ever since she walked over to the job site to talk with him, and after all the things that they did in that small trailer, how could he ever forget her? And, did he want to?
No he did not. And if Annmarie was honest with herself, she didn't want to either. They do heat up the sheets, and then some. And throw into the story a very pregnant friend/office manager, an accident, and well, you'll have to buy 68 & CLIMBING if you want to know more!
The tension between Nick and Annmarie is unbelievably hot, sexy, and downright funny at times. Kate Douglas has outdone herself with her newest story, 68 & CLIMBING. If there is only one book that you read by the end of the year, this one should be it! Kate has a way of drawing you into the story and holding you prisoner right up until the very end. I highly recommend this book to everyone and I can't wait to see what Kate comes up with next!
