Redford's A COWBOY FIREFIGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS had a hometown feel to it since it's set in a small town where everyone is involved in the town and show us how neighbors should act with camaraderie and respect. Misty and Trey meet up unexpectedly when she's flagged down on a country road to help put out a fire. She becomes his Christmas Angel and that's how she starts to get known around town. She has secrets involving her job and her adversity to anything Christmas but Trey slowly knocks down her barriers. They are good together and get to know each other quickly. There is chemistry but they come from two different worlds even though they are in Texas - one from a city, the other a small town. But will it matter?
I loved the descriptions of the people, the shops, Trey's home and the outdoors. J.P. and Charlene rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning and I didn't like the way they always turned up and insinuated themselves in with townspeople. There were family and friends and lots of loving along with small town activities, businesses and traditions. There was anger, hurt, sadness, fear, secrets, tears, happiness, laughter and love. There were a few loose ends that never got resolved in my mind but nice closure with a happily ever after in the offing. I'm glad that we'll be returning to Wildcat Bluff and the SMOKIN’ HOT COWBOYS SERIES since there are many more characters we've met that have their own story to tell and need their own happily ever after!
Redford is a new to me author and I will be adding her other books in this series to my always growing TBR pile! I'm looking forward to reading BLAZING HOT COWBOY which is book two in the series and comes out soon.
