Gunner Ainslie has always been a bit of a lady's man and loves the adventures he has had. But Lorina poses a problem in that she doesn't seem interested in him and he knows she is not who she is attempting to be. Getting to know Lorina better and finding out why she doesn't seem interested in him but is into another man, leads him on a merry chase. Gunner is determined to know the real Lorina and she is trying to keep her secret safe and her body away from the enticing Gunner.
This is the story of an archaeological dig in England on the grounds of Ainslie Castle. The family has fallen on hard times and because the castle has fallen into ruin, they need to make some money, so they agree to the dig as well as the reality show being there. Knowing the Roman's had laid siege to the land decades ago, there is a chance of a great discovery. When the dig becomes a treasure hunt, it leads Lorina and Gunner into a part of the cellar no one knows about to find the treasure. When they are locked in the area overnight, they find they are quite compatible to one another but not sure where it will all lead.
This is a funny, sassy story that takes us on a wild ride through the diggers and the eccentric film director ideas of costumes and reenactments. It teaches us about the art of archaeological digging and the plotting of the trenches before digging. It portrays the lives of modern day aristocrats and the mix with the ideology of making the present day life more real. I give A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S ROMP 4 Blue Ribbons on Romance Junkies' website because of the doors this book opened for me into the history of the land and archaeology to discover what has been buried long ago. This is a fast-paced comical story of the present day lives of the heirs to the castles. I didn't want to put it down until I found what pitfalls had fallen on the main characters and how the end would work its way out.
