As one of the three members of the FET (Female Engagement Team) Jazz Winters takes pride in aiding the Afghani women and girls to further their education and chase their dreams. It’s not an easy mission but it’s one she finds extremely fulfilling. Her only regret is not being able to see Logan and Zach as much as she’d like. Thanks to the 1Nite Stand dating service Jazz experienced a night of passion in their arms that’s only whetted her appetite for the two Marines over the months they’ve been parted.
When Jazz had to return to duty she promised the men that she’d spend her leaves with them – and she’s kept her word, but because of their schedules there’s been no opportunity for the three of them to be together at the same time. Instead she’s been with each of them individually and communicates with them regularly via phone and internet – until the day an IED changed everything.
Jazz survives the attack but she suffers a traumatic brain injury and goes through a series of surgeries while Logan and Zach can do nothing but wait for any news they can wheedle from their sources – including Jazz’s mother. Jazz doesn’t wish to see them which initially hurts but the men understand – doesn’t mean they’re going to adhere to her wishes, but they do understand.
As far as they’re concerned, Jazz is their woman, broken, bruised, brain injury – none of it makes any difference in the way they feel about her. Jazz might not believe a ménage relationship can last, but Logan and Zach are determined to prove otherwise.
We first met Jazz, Logan and Zach in the second book of the ALWAYS A MARINE series, RETREAT HELL! SHE JUST GOT HERE and I’m thrilled that Ms. Long decided to add to their story. I hated that Jazz was injured in this story but so proud that Logan and Zach stood by her – even when she attempts to push them away. I especially adored Jazz’s mother who is just as stubborn and bold as Jazz – and obviously loves her daughter and wants to see her happy. One of the things that really struck me about Logan, Zach and Jazz is the connection between them. It’s more than sexual; it’s raw, emotional and almost overwhelmingly powerful. In one word, even with all the ugliness of war, there’s beauty to be found – sometimes you just have to look for it and it’s obvious this threesome find that beauty in being together.
