Addison and Taylor have been together for the past five years and while they’ve been extremely happy together things are about to change.  They’ve made the transition to living together and Taylor has plans to take Addison home to meet his family.  Gay or straight, meeting your lover’s parents for the first time is not going to be a stress-free situation.  Throw in a little self-doubt, nervousness and a disconcerting ‘too good to be true’ attitude and things are bound to get interesting.

Taylor’s already under the impression that there might be something wrong with him because he feels like he never feels complete satisfaction no matter how many times he and Addison make love.  When he discovers a BDSM magazine hidden in TICKET TO RIDE, a beloved game they enjoyed, he begins to wonder if maybe Addison needs more than the vanilla sex they’re accustomed to sharing.  There’s no denying that he’s questioning the tingly feeling he gets from the mere thought of submitting to Taylor’s mastery – but how do you tell your lover that you know about his choice of reading material and are interested in getting more adventurous with their lovemaking?  It’s simple, you visit an adult toy store and buy an assortment of toys you think he might enjoy and surprise him with them for Christmas.

Ana Raine’s TICKET TO RIDE is a wickedly delightful gay romance that somehow manages to instill a feeling of nervous anticipation for the reader.  I couldn’t help but worry about Addison and Taylor’s relationship and if it would last with so much emotional undercurrent going on.  On the other hand, the love between them is obvious so it was a lot of fun being privy to Taylor’s thoughts and reasons behind his actions – all while Addison has no clue what’s going on in Taylor’s mind.

TICKET TO RIDE is one of many titles in Changeling Press’s RED VELVET CHRISTMAS series.  I know it’s marketed as a Christmas story but in reality it’s a fun title to read any time of year.
