Katie Miller’s life changed the day she and a group of friends were involved in a vehicle accident. The incident claimed the life of her boyfriend and left her other friends with permanent injuries. Overnight, Katie’s world changed from living the life of a carefree Amish girl to spending her days in deep depression by living in the past and wondering what could have been.
To get away from the painful memories, she went to live with her grandmother in Florida. When a letter arrives from her long time friend Loraine Miller, inviting her to her wedding in Indiana, she has doubts if she can return to her home town where she was last happy. She knows that if she refuses to go, Loraine would be disappointed. With a heavy heart, she makes the decision to go to the wedding, not knowing how she will be able to hold up emotionally.
In Indiana, seeing all of her friends and family brings back the realization of what all she has lost. Freeman Bontrager is a newcomer to the community and he takes an immediate notice to Katie. Will Katie be strong enough to put the past behind her and start living for the future? Will Freeman have the patience and understanding to bring light and love into Katie’s dark world?
Wanda E. Brunstetter's INDIANA COUSIN'S SERIES is by far the best Amish series I have ever discovered. A COUSIN’S PRAYER is the second in the series, but can be read as a standalone novel if you failed to read the first one. Her characters are assured to warm your heart and stay with you long after you finish the book. Her descriptive language proves she is a masterful artist who is able to paint the book in your head as it wraps its way around you heart. Wanda E. Brunstetter’s writes the type of stories that you are assured to fall in love with. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romance that offers tons of emotional substance by providing an outstanding reading pleasure.
