Alessandro Moretti spent three months in the group home with Hillary. At the time, he was sixteen. Shortly afterwards, he and his older brother Lorenzo left the home, leaving her behind. Now he is grown and his brother is dead, but Alessandro has been wondering how Hilary is faring so decides to look her up. Alessandro has been trying to make amends for his past. In fact, he even studied for the priesthood, but his love for a woman was the deciding factor in his leaving the church, only to have the woman jilt him for another man. However, he has never forgotten Hilary, who he has loved since their time together at the home.
The more time Hilary spends with Alessandro during their weekly excursions to discover something different about the city they live in, the more awkward her relationship with Brett feels. But Hilary has a secret, one she does not know if Alessandro will forgive. In the end, which one will she choose; Alessandro, the one she loved long ago, but who nearly destroyed her, or Brett, the one who has helped her with her present? Will she take the risk of letting Alessandro in on her secret?
A sexy tale, A LITTLE TOO MUCH, the second book in award winning author Lisa Desrochers’ A LITTLE TOO FAR series, is a touching and passionate contemporary adult novel. Although this story is told exclusively from Hilary’s point of view, readers are still able to get a clear picture of all the characters involved in this delightful story. Alessandro and Hilary share a dark past. However, it just may be their past that is the basis for their present relationship. Fans of this series will be thrilled to get a chance to read Alessandro’s story. Although it is not necessary to read the first book, A LITTLE TOO FAR, to enjoy this story, reading it will give readers more insight into Alessandro. An emotion-packed story, it is sure to bring many readers to tears.
Violence, drugs, death, secrets, forgiveness, healing, tender romance and true love combine to give readers an engrossing tale that they won’t want to put down until they reach the delectable ending. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I have enjoyed it immensely and look forward to the next installment of her compelling series, A LITTLE TOO HOT, which is due out in January 2014. In the meantime, be sure to check out A LITTLE TOO MUCH. I recommend it highly!
