Officer Dave McCoy has rescued the pretty woman at the women’s shelter from trouble more than once, and it’s becoming a full time job just keeping her safe. As Dave begins spending more time with Heather, he realizes she has started to worm her way into his heart. But why does she act so scared of getting involved with him? Will Dave be able to prove to Heather that he is A MAN OF HONOR and that she can ‘count on a cop’? Will he manage to win her trust—and her heart—in spite of her suspicions towards cops?
Linda Barrett became one of my favorite authors with her PILGRIM COVE series, and now with A MAN OF HONOR, she continues to remain on that short list. Ms. Barrett does a great job of writing realistic characters that readers can sympathize and identify with. Heather’s gun-shy attitude towards Dave was totally understandable after being abused as a child at the hands of her father. Her dedication to homeless women, teens, and children was commendable and she set a wonderful example for others to follow. Dave was the handsome alpha hero who was finally able to help Heather conquer her fear of cops. I enjoyed this contemporary novel from Harlequin Superromance and hope to read more of Ms. Barrett’s work very soon.
