Matt and Allie have finally achieved the ‘in’ the FBI has been trying to achieve for years - Simon Petrocelli has offered his protection from Brian Sumner. The last thing he expects is to be shot when he’s leaving the men’s room of an upscale restaurant where Allie and he had been dining with Petrocelli. They’d almost blown their cover when Allie refused to leave Matt, but thanks to her quick thinking and Petrocelli’s attraction to her (which Matt isn’t very happy about) she’d contacted Petrocelli and asked for his protection for the two of them.
Matt’s not sure who can be trusted and who can’t but one thing he is sure of is that their own people have compromised them. Too many facts about the shooting and the hospital overnight stay - for stitches - just don’t add up. Matt and Allie make the decision to leave the hospital where they’re sure that their room is bugged. The last thing they expect is for Petrocelli to anticipate their escape from the hospital and be waiting on them - with their bosses in tow.
Once they’re all seated in the limousine, Matt and Allie learn that Petrocelli is not at all what he seems. In fact, he is an FBI agent himself. He is retired but for personal reasons, nailing Sumner gave him good reason to come out of retirement. Teaming up so that they can watch each other’s backs may be the best way to go and to do so they’d have to present a believable reason for them to get together. How do the three of them team up and make it believable? Looking like they’re participating in a threesome will do quite nicely, but if they’re going to pull off that kind of appearance they’re going to need to be comfortable with each other - very comfortable.
Caitlyn Willows has kept me thoroughly entertained and engrossed in each of the books in her TEAMWORK series and A REAL MAN is no exception. While you don’t need to read the other books in this series to enjoy this one, I do recommend it, they’re all hot, exciting, and full of enough suspense to satisfy any desire you may have for a little something different. I loved getting the chance to delve more into the relationship between Allie and Matt, but I have to admit, I adore Simon Petrocelli and after reading about his reasons for going after Sumner, I desperately wanted him to have his happily-ever-after.
There’s one more story in the TEAMWORK series, NEVER TOO LATE, which contains the rest of Petrocelli’s story and I’m sure you won’t want to miss it.
