Scott Whittaker can sense how skittish Dean feels and does his best to seduce the good vet. His seductive wiles and endless patience pays off and Scott finds himself falling in love with Dean and wanting to build a life with him. The fact that Dean feels the same way is just icing on the cake.
The partners’ love is tested, however, when Dean’s past tries to insinuate itself into their lives. Before the lovers know what has happened, another danger raises its ugly head. It seems someone else wants Scott out of the picture and is willing to kill to accomplish that fact.
A SURE FIRE CURE is romantic, suspenseful, and just downright wonderful. I found myself rapidly immersed in the storyline. While this is a book of homoerotic love, I quickly forgot that one fact and settled in for a great story. I was not disappointed. Kate Steele has taken two characters and made them realistic, with hopes and dreams, with faults, and with earthy sensuality that still makes me blush when I reflect on it.
Having first read Kate Steele as a lover of her werewolf tales, I find myself excited by the fact that she is also a great contemporary western author as well! I can’t wait to read what she pens next!
