It was the 50’s and Janey Blackman is so happy to be finished at Chantersley school. For twelve years Janey was bedeviled by Posy Bantley-Brown who looked down on any one with less than her stellar background. Her happiness is short lived however for as she arrived home she overhears a conversation between her parents that will forever change her life. The very next day Janey strikes out for London to forge ahead with her life.

At the boarding house where she rented a room lived the mysterious Carlo. Meeting Carlo changed Janey’s life forever. And to her surprise Posy contacted her and invited her for a visit to meet her fiancé. This event further changes Janey’s life.

Gradually Janey begins to understand Posy’s reason for wanting to keep in touch with her but at the same time there is a very big reason why she should not be around Posy too much.

The author made Janey a very believable person and her story is very interesting. The style of writing is easy to follow and she shows her characters personalities so well. I would recommend this book to any one that likes a great read.
