CEO Alexander Ellison made a promise to his father to always take care of his mother, so when his mother's companion called in a panic Alex knew he had to honor that promise. Alex's mother's hair accidentally got wet, right before company was to arrive for a party. It was up to Alex to go pick up her hairdresser and take her to fix his mothers hair. When Alex arrived at The-Cut-and-Curl to pick up Gayle, the beautiful red head was nothing like what Alex was expecting.

Gayle Gentry is thirty-eight, a divorced mother of two teenagers, struggling to support her children and her ex husband most of the time as well. When Alex called Gayle to fix his mothers hair, Gayle jumped at the chance to earn some extra money. When Gayle and Alex got to talking she never expected to hit it off so well with this gorgeous younger man, or to end up spending the night with him.

From the start Gayle knew there was no way their relationship could last, they were from two different worlds, not to mention he was much younger, but one touch from Alex and Gayle could deny him nothing. Until one night when Gayle is introduced into Alex's world, she soon realizes just how different their lives really are. Now Alex must try to convince Gayle that love knows no boundaries and is definitely worth taking a second chance on.

I think I have read every book written by the writing team of Barri Bryan and each story is truly remarkable. I think, A WORLD APART, is truly one of their best yet. It has some very sad parts that brought tears to my eyes, but the reality of the story draws the reader in. The characters in this story will remain with me for a long time and I can't wait to see what this great writing team comes up with next.
