Ever since moving back to Portland, Maine, Miranda Carter has been lusting after her childhood friend Colin Jacobs. Not only is he amazing to look at, but he is polite, funny, intelligent, and just an all around great guy. Too bad he doesn't seem to feel anything for her besides friendship. But with the help of a magazine article detailing five ways to pick up your love life, Miranda starts to feel more daring and decides to take a risk. She invites Colin to her home for a night of red-hot seduction and passion.

Colin doesn't know what to think when he receives a mysterious email from Miranda. He's a bit worried about what she may want as lately she seems to be giving off more than friend related vibes. Colin wants Miranda, has wanted her before she left Portland and his ardor for her has only increased. But he's afraid that he may be second best in her eyes, that the relationship she had with his deceased brother Derek may be the only reason she wants him. Colin of course couldn't be more wrong, and Miranda intends to show him that the only man she wants is him.

Unfortunately, the seduction doesn't go quite as planned and Colin leaves Miranda angry and alone at her home. As he is walking along the street, Colin gets into an accident with some bicyclists, and the next thing he knows, he is waking up in a hospital room, with no memory of how he got there. The last thing he remembers about that evening is receiving the email from Miranda.

Though upset at his accident, Miranda decides to use it to her advantage. She knows she shouldn't, but she can't help telling Colin that they had made love that night, that they are now lovers. Colin is shocked, but that quickly wears off in the face of his strong attraction to Miranda. But now Miranda has another problem on her hands-how to tell Colin the truth about what really went on that evening.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT... lives up to its status as a Harlequin Blaze. This book is steamy and romantic, pairing off two childhood friends who are perfect for each other. Miranda faces real-life decisions that many women have faced, how to seduce the man of your dreams, and what to do when things don't go as planned. The touches of warmth and humor that flow between Miranda and Colin help ease the transition from friendship to oh so much more. Both of these characters are extremely well developed and have flaws that everyone can relate too. They aren't perfect, which makes their story even better as they have to decide how to best take the next step in their relationship.

As an added bonus, there is a romantic subplot involving Colin and Miranda's friends Penny and Travis who are also facing relationship changes. Their love story was not only an integral and interesting part of the story, but it provided a strong contrast to the main plot.

Ms. Hunter's second story is another success. ABOUT LAST NIGHT... is a wickedly sensual story that not only raises the heat, but raises the emotional bar as these characters learn new things about not only themselves but their relationship. This is a fun read that is destined for a spot on your keeper shelf.
