Mary is a young lonely woman living alone in her dead grandmother's house in an urban area of Baltimore, Maryland. She would like to find a handsome prince to carry her away on his white horse into the sunset so she can live happily ever after, but her friends keep fixing her up with losers. Maybe God just wants her to be "single and satisfied", Mary wonders. After enduring a complete makeover at the direction of her three best friends, Mary soon realizes it isn't her outward appearance that is going to attract a permanent mate. Will she have any better luck with a computer dating service?

Moor is a lonely young man from Lesothos, Africa, in the United States to attend college. With only two old men for friends, Moor is waiting on God to send him the woman of his dreams. But does she live in Baltimore? When they decide to help him find a wife, can the results of their search be anything but disastrous? Will a computer dating service lead him to his perfect mate?

AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN is a wonderful feel-good book I really enjoyed reading. Sharon Ewell Foster's style of writing brings out the voices in your head as you read the words she has written. I found myself singing the "Ain't No Mountain" song continuously during and after reading this fabulous book. Puddin is a secondary character that helps tie the whole story together and provides much of the fun. What things can happen when we assume things! I know I will never be able to look at fried chicken again without laughing as I remember what Puddin used it for in this book. Funny, entertaining, and endearing, AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN is definitely a book I recommend as a great read.
