ALL I NEED IS YOU (LOVING YOU #2) is a contemporary romance with a lot of action - not all related to loving either. Rory and Neve are both complex characters with many layers to them. They are so much better together than apart but they definitely don't see eye to eye on their friendship let alone anything more.
Marcus' ALL I NEED IS YOU held my interest from the first page to the last. There was so much going on in the storyline whether it was between Rory and Neve or between them and their families and much of it had a dark side. Nate, Neve's brother, was always looking out for her, protecting her and there for her and their love and bond was strong. Finding out their family connection isn't what it seemed was eye opening and disheartening to both of them but it didn't change their feelings or love for one another. There are many twists and turns to the story that takes place partly in Afghanistan but in New York and Boston as well. Learning about the characters and what made them who they are was woven throughout but information was given out in pieces and not all at once. Rory was all alpha male and Neve was a good time girl that was trying to change her ways but had low self esteem when it pertained to anything but her gymnastics or dancing.
There are family and friends, jobs, businesses, dreams, hopes, pasts, injuries and illnesses, fears, hurts, arguments, nightmares, PTSD, doctors, laughter, happiness, romance and love. Rory got Neve better than most people after only getting to know her from her letters when they were pen pals but when they met there were definitely sparks that changed into a raging inferno at times. He fit into her life better than she ever thought possible since she never expected to meet him and really get to know him. Watching them get closer and care how the other one was feeling throughout the story was heartwarming but they each had their angry and stubborn side too. There was nice closure and most of the loose ends were tied up which is always a good thing. The happily ever after to be is a nice touch and more than welcomed by me. I loved the prologue that set the stage for what was to come and the epilogue that showed us what will be. I for one can't wait for more books in this series!
Marcus is a new to me author whose books I look forward to reading more of. I hope there are many more books in this series since Nate needs his own story as do Rory's brothers. I need to read book one in this series, LOVING YOU IS EASY to get some of the background that I missed by starting with book two.
