Scott's ANGEL IN ARMANI (NEW YORK SAINTS, BOOK 2), swept me along even though I had not read book one in the series. This is Lucas' story along with Sara Charles, a helicopter pilot, and their interactions are sizzling at times but other times so heartwarming since Lucas really does want Sara to have a better life with less worries and they instantly connect. They both have many layers to them which get pulled back little by little as we get to know them. There are family - Sara's warm and fuzzy, Lucas' not so much - along with friends, coworkers, baseball players, trips back and forth between New York and Florida, helicopter rides, worries, fear, laughter, tears, happiness, lots of romance and love, feel good feelings and a happily ever after that was very sweet and endearing. Sara's dog, Dougal, was a nice addition to the story especially his aversion to men. There was nice closure but it left me wanting more even with the epilogue!
Scott is a new to me author and I will definitely be reading her other books. I need to read book one in this series which was her debut contemporary romance, THE DEVIL IN DENIM, and then I will be waiting for LAWLESS IN LEATHER which is the third book in the NEW YORK SAINTS SERIES that will be out next year. ANGEL IN ARMANI was reminiscent to me of romance books with sports themes written by Kate Angell, Jill Shalvis and Dierdre Martin, some of my favorite authors.
