THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE is a contemporary novel that sucked me in immediately. I wanted to know more about the Monroes, but especially Rocky, nickname for Rochelle, and family friend Jayce Bello - their history, their chemistry, their friendship and love. A kick for me was growing up in New York and being able to visualize the touristy sights as well as the Brooklyn neighborhood where Jayce lived - including President Street, where my niece lives, and Prospect Park, Park Slope, etc.

Ciotta's THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE had it all. Great characters that I got to know little by little as the author revealed their good and bad along with their family ties and friendships. A great storyline with lots of twists and turns, that included heartache, happiness, sadness, love, romance, quite a few secrets, laughter, tears, the small town of Sugar Creek with nice townspeople I would love to have as neighbors, great businesses and the Spookytown Spectacular, some mystery and darkness and then wonderful closure. This is book two in the series and although I haven't yet read book one, FOOL FOR LOVE, I did not feel lost. There was enough background given by the author that I could put the pieces together of what had happened previously.

Ciotta is a new to me author (and I love finding new authors) and I will be going back to read her other books. At the end of this book there were two chapters from book three, ANYTHING BUT LOVE, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Usually an author will throw you a bone with an excerpt from a new book or maybe the first chapter, but reading the first two chapters ratcheted it up a level so much so that I can't wait to read the rest of the book.
