Deidre is a writer who is very introverted and modest, who married Luc in a whirlwind of passion after only two weeks, and moved to Louisiana to live. She is very shy and finds it hard to get used to the oppressive, smothering heat, and the unrelenting bright sun. She feels that the community's respect for Luc is the only thing that has kept her from being totally ostracized by the townspeople of Parish Tyler. Deidre immerses herself in her writing to the point where her marriage is in serious trouble, and she fears Luc may be looking elsewhere for love.

Luc is gorgeous, virile, and all out male who has old-fashioned views on the roles of men and women in a marriage. While he is proud of his wife's career, he feels she isolates herself with her writing. Luc wants her to be more outgoing, and that she should at least try to get to know his friends and neighbors. Luc also wants them to start thinking about having a family. He knows their marriage is in trouble, so he decides to do something about it, which will either save their marriage or destroy it for good. It's a gamble he feels that is worth the risk.

On the very day Deidre decides she has to save her marriage, Sheriff Boudreaux, every woman's fantasy of a strong, gorgeous man that oozes sex appeal, arrests her and takes her to the lockup. She knows by the sensual pull and heated looks that he wants sex, and that it would be an extra thrill to their scandalous interlude. What decisions will she make and what will the consequences be?

Ms. Michaels has written an extraordinary story with exceptionally clever word-weaving that will pull you into a story that you are positive is heading in one direction, but then you find yourself swept away into another, much more intense, exhilarating, humorous, heart wrenching, and yes, very hot love story.

THE CAJUN SHERIFF is such a beautiful love story that you will find yourself feeling the characters every emotion; which will at times, have you melting and sighing over the love these two characters have for each other.

This is a must-read book for anyone who wants their hearts to pound with powerful emotions and tears to fill your eyes as you are trying to read. I loved this book and truly believe that Brandi Michaels has that special magic that makes truly great writers.

I eagerly await Ms. Michaels next book.
