Katarina Masterson is known throughout Kingdom City as the queen who tried to off her husband’s mistress. She paid her dues in the Dungeon and now she is struggling to rid herself of her bad girl image and move on with her life. She’s praying that a makeover and an appearance on the new reality show “Real Life Ways to Catch a King” will help her get her wish. She just never expected to find herself attracted to the show’s executive producer.

Sergei Sokolnokov is known for his seedier dealings in Kingdom City, so with a slight name change and a keen mind he devises a plan to clean up his image and escape the life he’s been leading. He wants out of the pixie dust and strip club market, so he comes up with the premise for some reality TV programming and with his accumulated wealth backs those shows as executive producer. He knows he’s not getting any younger, and starting a family is becoming priority number one. Too bad the only candidate he has for his happily ever after is a former queen with a reputation almost as bad as his.

Can two people struggling to be more than what they are perceived as make a life together? Can Serge get past Kat’s mistakes and can Kat find the strength to love again?   Together they’ll do whatever it takes to make their dreams come true, and hopefully no one ends up with a broken heart.

I can’t even begin to describe how truly wonderful this story is. Full of wit, humor and two incredible characters, this book makes me want to stand up and cheer.

Anna J. Evans takes the fairy tales we loved as young girls and makes them so much more. In this installment of her Perfectly Wicked series, she takes us on a hilarious ride as we experience the aftermath of the attempt on Snow White’s life. She manages to give life to the queen in a way that I can’t help but feel sorry for her. Clearly Kat is every bit the evil queen you’d expect her to be, however, Ms. Evans has created a woman so well-rounded I could actually see why she did what she did and I found myself sympathizing with her.

The writing in this story is clever and Ms. Evans’s voice is clear and strong throughout. Her ability as a writer is quite amazing and BAD APPLE is an excellent read all around. I have great hopes for this series. Ms. Evans needs to keep taking our childhood stories and making them over, she has a real knack for it. I will happily recommend her Perfectly Wicked series for years to come—BAD APPLE is a definite keeper.
