Abby Barton is at the top of her game. She is the star of a television show that teaches people how to de-clutter their lives and their homes. She is a loving mother and wife. But she knows that she is being taken for granted. When an old boyfriend shows up and starts paying her some much- needed attention, it means nothing but trouble for Abby.

Jess, Abby’s teenaged daughter hates her life. She is the outcast at her school and can’t seem to find her niche. She can’t seem to grow into her skin and find a comfort level with herself or her peers. Will she ever find the courage to just be herself? Worse than that, will anyone, especially boys, ever like who she is?

Lizzie is running herself into the ground by being there for everyone else. When her ex-husband finds a new love, Lizzie starts to question her own loveless life. But will she be able to stop wearing herself out worrying over others and start focusing on herself?

Erin can’t believe it when her husband Greg wants to move back to Ireland. She ran away from the horrid place years ago, never having the slightest urge to go back. But now she is back and she has to come to terms with the past that she ran away from. That includes the family that she left behind.

These three women are brought together by Dunmore and stick together through a deep friendship. Their common bond is Sally Richardson, who owns the local beauty salon and spa. When sunny Sally has a personal issue that affects everyone in her life and in the town, these friends become even closer to help their friend. They learn that there is more to life than what is on the surface. What’s important are your family and friends.

BEST OF FRIENDS is a touching tale of friendship, family love and strength. Ms. Kelly has penned a dramatic story that touches on so many important issues in today’s society that I recommend that every woman read it. Adoption, breast cancer, infidelity, divorce, second chances at love, and teenage angst are all touched on in this novel. I laughed and cried my way through it, each page touched my heart and each character touched my soul.
