Zane Sutton and his brother Landry grew up poor, raised by their mother, since their father rarely came around. Their mother worked hard and loved her boys beyond anything. So Zane wished that his mother had lived to see him get out of the rodeo circuit and make good money as an A-list actor. Now, at thirty-four, Zane is ready to grow up and go in a different direction. Tired of city life, Zane heads to Hangman’s Bend, the Montana ranch that he and Landry purchased a few years ago as an investment. Accompanied by his twelve-year-old half-brother, Nash, who has been deserted by their father once more, and Slim, a dog he rescued from the pound, Zane finds life on the ranch much more enticing than his fast-paced Hollywood life.

Brylee was devastated when she was left at the altar by her fiancé, Hutch, who went on to marry his true love, and she still has not fully recovered. Since that day, she has withdrawn into herself, no longer socializing with her friends or even taking her horse out for a gallop. Living with her brother, Walker, his wife Casey, who is a famous country music singer, plus their children, Brylee feels as if she will never find a love of her own. Unlike her personal life, career wise she is a success and owns her own home décor business. Already distrustful of men, especially handsome ones, Brylee is a bit prickly when she first meets Zane. Trust does not come easy for her, but Zane stirs a longing deep within her and before long, she finds herself socializing once more as the chemistry between them draws them closer and her old wounds, after being dumped at the altar, begin to heal. After a passionate interlude, Zane realizes she is the woman for him, but can he break down the walls around her heart and get her to give them a chance?

Known as the “First Lady of the West,” number one New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller has once more penned a winner with BIG SKY WEDDING, the fifth book in her PARABLE, MONTANA series. As a fan of this series, I was delighted to get the chance to read Brylee’s story, after seeing her heartache in BIG SKY MOUNTAIN, when she was dumped by her fiancé at the altar. Although Zane could have been just how Brylee pictured famous Hollywood actors to be, I was glad to see that instead, he was just what she needed. Despite her fear of risking her heart again, he stuck in there and managed to help her heal. Filled with humor, family dynamics, a tight-knit community, healing, forgiveness, second chances, romance and love, this story is one you will want to read more than once. A definite keeper! Although this story can be read as a standalone, for further insight into the series and additional enjoyment, I recommend reading the other books in the series. Now comes the hardest part for me – waiting for the release of Ms. Miller’s next PARABLE, MONTANA novel. If you are looking for a great contemporary western romance with plenty of humor and heat, BIG SKY WEDDING is the book for you.
