Clare's THE BILLIONAIRE TAKES A BRIDE was a quick read and started out much softer than any of the other books I've read by her although there was still darkness thrown in. Sebastian wants nothing to do with the reality show his family stars in and decides how to thwart his mother and his ex-girlfriend Lisa after meeting Chelsea and sharing a sizzling kiss. Their chemistry is immediate but she has issues from a crime that was committed against her three years before and hasn't been able to put behind her but Sebastian seems to be the one whom can make her whole. Watching his patience and attraction and love grow as well as her feelings of safety, comfort, freedom and love was fun to watch and I wanted to just wrap them up in their own little bubble. There was a playfulness about them but Sebastian got her and always let Chelsea be in control and was always mindful of her feelings and state of mind and it was great how their feelings grew for one another. Seeing how they treated each other was heartwarming. Their feelings are real but of course life happens and things don't always work out like you want them to. There was a lot of sizzle and heat especially in the second half of the story but the way it evolved was freeing for both Sebastian and Chelsea.
Learning about roller derby as a sport was eye opening. There were family and friends, teammates, billionaire friends and significant others, soap making, art, wedding planning, roller derby, tears, fear, panic, pain, arguments, misunderstandings, happiness, laughter, dreams, romance, lots of loving and love. There was closure and the epilogue was a nice touch. We know there's more stories to tell since there is mention of Griffin's cousin, Loch, who is from Europe and titled.
This is the third book in the BILLIONAIRES AND BRIDESMAIDS SERIES and I have also read book two, THE TAMING OF THE BILLIONAIRE, but I have not yet read the first book in the series, THE BILLIONAIRE AND THE VIRGIN, but I hope to do so soon. I have read most books in the BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB SERIES and I look forward to reading book four, ONCE UPON A BILLIONAIRE, which I somehow missed along the way. I look forward to reading other books written by Clare as well as those by Jill Myles.
