Samantha Leighton is a celebrity journalist, and she excels at her job.  When her boss hears some nasty rumors that she's gotten a little too friendly with one of her subjects, he claims to have no choice but to fire her.  Not only that, but her love life is steadily going down hill.  She can't believe the bad luck that has taken over her life.

Sam's best friend, Tom, is a life-style editor for another magazine, and one evening they get together over dirty martinis and dream about the magazine they will start.  When Sam's mother makes a comment about Sam starting a magazine, she realizes that they just might be able to do it, and so their adventure begins.  Sam and Tom share their idea with a few of their closest friends.  Everyone is thrilled with it, and they all start making plans.

These characters are hilarious, and each one has their own set of problems.  I loved getting to know each one and learning how they grew and matured emotionally.

BITE is absolutely the best chick lit novel I have ever read.  It's about two friends who start a venture that will change their lives, and about dreaming big and making those dreams a reality.  It's written by two people who personally know the subject.  The world of magazines and journalism was a great place to visit, and I hated to leave it.  The cast of characters was awesome and unforgettable.  You'll be talking about and remembering BITE long after you are finished reading it.  Don't miss this completely captivating adventure!
