Bobbie Faye Sumrall is having a richly deserved normal day – for her.  The only problem she has to deal with is trying to talk the preacher’s wife out of buying a gun.  Then her cousin Francesca enters the store where Bobbie Faye is working begging for help finding a stash of diamonds.  Then all hell breaks loose.

Bobbie Faye is kidnapped and released three times in less time than it takes most people to make dinner.  Then the chaos starts.  The various groups of people who want her to find the diamonds for them, including Francesca and her entourage, a crazy Irishman, her Uncle Emile – the mob boss of Southern Louisiana, and Homeland Security, follow Bobbie Faye as she tries to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance.  To top it all off, following behind everybody are the cops, including her ex-boyfriend who is trying to prove that she didn’t kill the man in the video, even though the video they have shows her killing him.

BOBBIE FAYE’S (KINDA, SORTA, NOT-EXACTLY) FAMILY JEWELS is a fast-paced, can’t put it down novel full of great chase scenes, lots of gun play and steamy scenes between Bobbie Faye and her new maybe boyfriend, FBI agent and bodyguard for Emile.  The chases are as frenetic and chaotic as a heart-pounding action movie and yet the plot moves seamlessly from one scene to another.  The dialogue is quick, witty, sarcastic and laugh-out-loud funny.

A cross between Carl Hiaasen and Dave Barry, Toni McGee Causey has a unique style that is a blast to read.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the next adventure starring Bobbie Faye.
