Charlotte Brantley is an author of Regency romances who lives alone with her cute little dog Friedl.
The man Charley bumped into is Eduard David de Lisle, a professor of Medieval History at the local university. David is a native of
Now David has the perfect excuse to see Charley. David also realizes that he will have to treat Charley with kid gloves and ever so slowly they start a very tentative relationship that may end with Charley finally knowing what passion and sex is all about.
BUT NOT FOR LOVE is a very traditional romance with a heroine who has her head so far up in the clouds that it takes a man like David to bring her down to the real world. This may sound cruel, but David shows Charley that she is beautiful and is worthy of love and romance. Her ideas may be a bit old-fashioned, but I found it endearing and David didn’t seem to mind. And when David shows Charley that sex is perfectly fine between two such adults, well those love scenes are wonderful.
Kelly Ferjutz has written a very unique type of romance that has a very Regency type feel even though this story is set during modern times. I also found David, the hero, to be an interesting character who is so perfect for a woman like Charley. I was rooting for their happily ever after and I have no doubt you will too. BUT NOT FOR LOVE was a wonderful book and a pleasant read.
