Call Me Mrs. Miracle

Jake Finley, son of the famous J. R. Finley, owner of Finley’s Department Store in New York City, hasn’t celebrated Christmas since he was a child when his mother and sister were killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve.  Now in charge of Finley’s toy department, Jake orders an overabundance of the expensive Telly the toy robot, causing his father to threaten his job if the toys aren’t sold by Christmas.

Holly Larson, a fashion assistant to a well-known designer, is struggling to provide her eight-year-old nephew with a nice Christmas.  With his widowed dad serving with the National Guard in Afghanistan, Holly must find a way to get Gabe the one toy he desperately wants for Christmas, but it costs a small fortune to the cash-strapped young woman.

When Jake and Holly meet at a coffee shop one morning, they are instantly attracted to each other.  And this is where Mrs. Emily Merkle, or Mrs. Miracle as she is mistakenly called by the Finleys, comes in.  The cheery lady works in the toy department of Finley’s and absolutely loves making people happy.  Can Mrs. Miracle work miracles and help Holly get enough money together for Gabe’s present, and even do a little matchmaking while she’s at it?

Delightfully heart-warming, CALL ME MRS. MIRACLE by Debbie Macomber is now one of my favorite holiday stories.  A sequel to last year’s Macomber Christmas story entitled MRS. MIRACLE, this sweet novel will get you in the Christmas spirit for certain.  Just as its predecessor last year, CALL ME MRS. MIRACLE will also be made into a holiday movie for the Hallmark Channel this Christmas.  With its descriptive scenes and engaging characters, this book takes its readers directly to New York City during Christmastime.  The excitement can be felt as you read, and the sights and sounds of Christmas can almost be seen and heard as you turn the pages.  Grab a cup of hot cocoa, a snuggly blanket, and a copy of CALL ME MRS. MIRACLE if you’re needing something to get you in the holiday mood.
