Brandon Bartlett also attended Parkview High as a teenager. He graduated with Jake but their worlds were far apart. Jake was the consummate popular jock, while Brandon was stereotyped as a nerd. Things are not much different now that they teach together. Brandon and Jake still have those same stereotypes in mind. However, things start to change when Brandon, the science teacher, is forced to help Jake coach baseball. Brandon knows next to nothing about coaching and is worried he is in for the razzing of his life. Fortunately, helping Jake with the high school boys is more fun than he would have ever expected, and it is all because of Jake. Suddenly, these two men are forced to see each other in a new light, and it is leading to a very strong attraction. Can they survive falling in love?
CAUGHT RUNNING is a wonderful contemporary romance. Jake and Brandon have some amazing chemistry. They go from a shy flirtation to an outright claiming, but it is done in a way that is very natural to their relationship. These two were not really friends; even at first, they were passing acquaintances. The authors did a great job of slowly evolving their relationship, throwing these characters together in situations where they had to take chances and let go of stereotypes. These men are not just the jock and the nerd; they are layered characters who are struggling with real issues. I really enjoyed watching these two fall for each other. Some scenes were comical, others more seductive, but there was always this vibrant current of energy between them. Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban have penned a charming story. Jake and Brandon will steal your heart!
