Chance of a Lifetime

CHANCE OF A LIFETIME by Jodi Thomas is a contemporary romance that initially kept me on my toes since there was a mystery to be solved along with the abundance of romances to sift through.  But as the clues piled up I wasn't surprised with whodunit as much as the slow pace it took to get to the reveal.

Thomas' novel, CHANCE OF A LIFETIME, is the fifth book in the Harmony series but it wasn't my absolute favorite.  While I was reacquainted with old friends, was brought up to date with others that were only mentioned in passing and made new friends that I will hopefully meet up with again in future Harmony books, I didn't feel as connected.  This was a slower paced book than some of her others even though there were several subplots which made up the main storyline.  Rick and Trace had a lot of potential that only scratched the surface and I would love to meet up with them again.  Emily and Tannon (love that name) were two lost and lonely souls that managed to find their way back to each other.  I could feel the waves of loneliness rolling off Tannon throughout the book and how only Emily could soothe both him and his soul.  This was really a case of them needing each other to be complete or whole.  There was closure but I felt a few more chapters were needed.  I look forward to meeting up with them and many more of the townspeople in future novels in this series.  I hope I don't have to wait too long!
