Joey Miller has just moved to Jacksonville Florida after yet another break up. He is on his way to visit some friends in Tallahassee when he narrowly manages to avoid a collision with another car. A mother and her son are not as fortunate and trained in first response Joey rushes over to see what he can do to help.

Paramedic Aaron Chase is surprised to find a good looking man already working with the victims when he arrives at the accident scene. He can’t deny his attraction to Joey and he has to admit that he has been very helpful, keeping the young boy calm while he and his partner worked on the boy’s mother. However, when he discovers that Joey is a social worker with the Department of Children and Families he feels an instant and intense dislike for him. Much to Aaron’s surprise this revelation does nothing to dampen his desire for Joey.

The heat between them is explosive but Aaron doesn’t believe in commitment or long term relationships. Joey has his own reasons for being cautious but he finds it difficult not to rush into love. Aaron is determined not to let Joey get under his skin but he is afraid it might already be too late.

Joey and Aaron have great chemistry.  As I read I was intrigued by both of these men equally. Each has his own issues that he is dealing with and neither one is good at relationships. The author does a good job of explaining why these characters behave the way they do and I enjoyed the positive affect they have on one another as they help one another to heal and begin again. COLLISION COURSE by K.A. Mitchell is an appealing read.
