Kat confides in her best friend and law partner that she has fantasies of submitting to a masterful man but is unsure how to go about getting what she so desperately craves. Her friend suggests that she join a secret club where she can explore those fantasies incognito.
She meets with the Society’s director to discuss the possibility of joining but refuses to admit what she really craves – a man to master her. When Kat leave the woman’s office her curiosity gets the best of her. She dons a red mask and slips into the room with the red door – the room for consensual BDSM. What she discovers has an effect on her that will haunt her days and, especially, her nights.
When Master J sees the woman enter the red room, he’s immediately drawn to her. A war of words ensues when the intruder questions what he’s doing to the chained submissive who appears to be in pain. Something about this stranger unnerves him and becomes the subject of his nightly dreams.
Chase Neill, known as Master J in the Red Room, discovers that a former employee is suing him for sexual harassment. His attorney suggests that Kathryn Wayans is the perfect attorney to defend him.
Unfortunately, the tension between Chase and Kat becomes a war of accusations and taunts that comes to a head when she quits and her partner takes over the case.
Reese Gabriel’s works seems to get better and better with each release. COMMANDING KAT kept me breathless from beginning to end. The visuals are crisp and I felt like I had a front row seat to the characters’ war of words, personal fantasies and an ending to end all endings. From the moment Kat first steps into the Red room until the end of the story, the edginess between her and Chase is played out in the most amazingly erotic foreplay. The culmination of all the little ebbs and flows will blow you away.
If you’re eighteen or over, I highly recommend this work and wonder if
Mr. Gabriel has a story in mind for Kat’s law partner. COMMANDING KAT is a recommended read.
