Melanie Brooks had left her life as a dancer in New York to return to her home town of Grady Gulch to care for her mother.  When her mother died, she had planned to sell her home and go back to New York.  Her plans changed when she experienced a health issue that put her in a wheelchair.

Adam Benson had been living with his brother, but when his brother got married he felt like it was time to get a place of his own.  The answer to his dilemma comes in a for rent sign in Melanie Brook’s home.

When Melanie meets Adam she cannot ignore how handsome he is but she is convinced it is useless to develop feelings for her new tenant for she feels she doesn’t want to burden anyone with her health condition.

Adam can see past Melanie’s wheelchair, her beauty takes his breath away and her eyes capture his soul.  Can he restore her faith in herself and convince her that she is still a beautiful and desirable woman?

In the shadows a serial killer watches Melanie.  He is intent of ensuring that she will become his next victim.  Will he succeed in his sinister plan?

COWBOY WITH A CAUSE rivets with a high level of drama.  I always love how a romance is complicated with an element of suspense.  Ms. Cassidy does an excellent job in keeping her readers guessing how the final outcome will end.
