Lacey Kincaid has a successful business called Odd Jobs and a boyfriend who wants to spend his life with her, but she knows something is missing from her life. It all points back to the death of her parents and escaping her abusive guardian uncle. The escape meant changing her name and leaving her old life behind

When her high school sweetheart, Ty, shows up on her doorstep, all the memories come flooding back. He explains that her uncle is trying to have her declared dead and take control of her large trust fund. She needs to return to claim what is rightfully hers.

Lacey, born Lillian Dumont, returns back to her hometown and shocks everyone that she is still alive. Everyone is happy for her return except for the one person who is trying to kill her. Lacey not only has to deal with her feelings coming back full force for Ty, but she also has to stay alive to take back control of the inheritance from her parents. Ty is determined to get her love back and keep her alive.

CROSS MY HEART is a fast paced read that you won't want to put down. Carly Phillip's characters come alive as you read. Lacey is a feisty, independent woman who has made herself successful despite the downfalls that she's lived through. Ty just wants to keep her alive and has to deal with his own feelings of guilt over the past. The secondary characters are just as enchanting. Molly is the daughter of Lacey's uncle's fiance and Hunter was one of Lacey's childhood friends. I would love to see a story come out with them as main characters. CROSS MY HEART is out in August of 2006 and will make a great read for a lazy day at the beach.
