is back in Remington, her home town, operating her sister’s catering business.  She doesn’t mind helping her sister through her difficult pregnancy, and it’s got the added bonus of helping her get away from a failed relationship in the city.  She’s a Dom, and is beginning to believe that her lifestyle is never going to enable her to have a fulfilling relationship.  Then Steve falls in her lap, and she starts to believe it’s fate.

Steve is sitting at the bar having a beer when he notices a compelling woman sitting in the corner by herself. He’s undeniably attracted to her, and walks over to introduce himself. Megan isn’t at all what he usually goes for, but he can’t seem to help himself. What happens when he meets Megan is a sensuous ride into a world he never imagined, but secretly craved.

CRUEL TO BE KIND is a great story; mainly because the two characters were very likeable and had just as many flaws and problems as regular people.  Megan is an interesting character; somehow Stephanie Vaughan manages to blend a person with failed relationships and feeling unsure of herself into a strong woman. She craves the control over Steve and her relationships, yet wants to be taken care of, too.  Steve has no idea what he’s in for, but seems to be willing to go for the ride. He responds to her and what she tells him immediately, but seems unable to figure out why.  The sex in the story is steamy hot, with a little bit of bondage thrown in.  Definitely one I will add to my bookshelf.
