Lisa Portelli has just celebrated her twenty-ninth birthday. She should be on top of the world with a great job in the New York City Police Department as a detective, including enough money to keep her comfortable because of her grandmother’s legacy and family name. But Lisa is bored, especially with the dating scene. The men she dates also come from money and only look at her because of her bank account. Even the bordello she sometime visits holds no appeal for her any longer.

Her best friend Cathy feels Lisa needs to date a different kind of man, more of a blue collar type. Lisa doesn’t think that will happen but Cathy will not let up. One night after Lisa is finishing up her work, she finds a bright red envelope on her desk. It is an invitation to join Pluto, Ruler of the Underworld, at the Women’s Pleasure Incorporated facility. Lisa throws caution to the wind and decides to go and be pleasured.

When Lisa is led and left in the specialized Underworld room, she is a bit uneasy because she enters into darkness. But when she requests some lights, she is amazed to be met by Pluto. He is tall, handsome and plays the part to perfection with horns on his head and is painted red all over. He stays in his role and gives Lisa the most intense sexual experience of her life. But where as Pluto wants her to stay in his domain, Lisa leaves thinking he is just a paid gigolo from her friend.

C.S. Chatterly has written one steamy fantasy romance. What woman wouldn’t want to stay with the Lord of the Underworld, especially the way this Pluto was written? Lisa maybe a bit rough around the edges, but she is lonely and not sure what she wants in life. To read about her letting go in the arms of an amazing guy was great, especially with someone who only cares about her needs.   But Lisa is not selfish and reciprocates in equal ways.

DARING THE UNDERWORLD is a fast yet appealing read and those sex scenes are quite stimulating, and I just had to go back and re-read. I almost believed that Pluto had come to the mortal realm for Lisa, but when you find out who he really is and what he wants, don’t be surprised if you sigh because his feelings and emotions are so full that I wanted to wrap him in my arms and give him a big hug. Lose yourself in the world of Pluto and pick up DARING THE UNDERWORLD.
