As a young woman in her early 20’s, Annabel was relatively naïve when it came to men and women. All that would change very quickly when she took the job working for Lord and Lady Corbette-Wynne. Annabel had been hired to redecorate their manor, but she soon discovered that the most interesting part of her stay at the hall would happen after hours. Will Annabel make it through her stay with her personal values unchanged? Will she come out of the job with more then she ever imagined?

Layton Hall was a world of secrets. Everyone who lived there hid something scandalous. From Lord James’s fascination with his female stable hands, to Lady Marina’s dalliance with her handsome neighbor, to their two adult children playing sex games with each other, life was never boring. However, was the endless parade of debauchery really the way that Annabel wanted to live her life? When she meets handsome Sir Matthew, she realizes that he might be the man she wants to be with. What will happen when Annabel leaves the hall to return to her real life?

DARK OBSESSION was a very interesting story. There was a great deal of love scenes between all the characters, so it was rather difficult to determine who was supposed to be the hero. Personally, I like to think that Sir Matthew was the hero, just because he was the least debauched character in the story, and I liked him the best. Crispin and Tania made me pretty uncomfortable, their relationship was very odd, even if they were step-siblings. All in all, the book was pretty good, overlooking the slight uncomfortable moments.
