Angus MacAllister is a famous chef and restauranteur, with his own TV cooking show. He works long hours and doesn't have much time for a social life; although his publicist lets the press think his personal life is a lot busier and more interesting than it actually is. Angus knows publicity is a necessary evil, and he'll go along with suggestions when he feels he should. It's what originally got him involved in helping kids prepare for a cooking contest. What keeps him involved is Elisabeth Read. His life may be busy, but he's more than willing to make time for Elisabeth. Besides, he's actually enjoying his time with the talented but troubled kids.
Angus goes all out to try to woo Elisabeth, but she has learned to be cautious. The last thing she needs is a charming, sexy man who wants her to be his lover of the week, or month, or however long he has in mind. She knows his reputation, after all. And his manner doesn't do much to change her mind. Not at first, anyway. But the more time she spends in his company, the more Elisabeth is attracted to Angus, like it or not. Will she simply believe everything she reads about Angus, the celebrity? Or is Elisabeth willing to get to know the real Angus MacAllister?
I loved the way the Elisabeth's past was slowly revealed throughout the story. It was clear something had happened to leave her hesitant to get close to any man, but true to Elisabeth's cautious nature, the details didn't come pouring out in a rush. I hoped she could find a way to unlock her heart and give Angus a chance. Angus MacAllister is sensuality personified. He doesn't quite understand why Elisabeth doesn't seem to like him, but he doesn't let it stop him. She can deny her attraction to him all she wants, but Angus can easily read her body's response to him. I hoped he wouldn't give up on her! DELICIOUS truly lives up to its descriptive title.
