Sara has recently taken a new job as a laboratory technologist at Drake Diagnostic Laboratory, performing tests for local animals - both domestic and wild. She moved from the city, thus getting away from her controlling ex-husband. Not looking for anything serious in the relationship department, she only wants a little fun. She may get more than what she bargains for.
Dante met Sara at the laboratory where they both work. There’s something mysterious and sexy about him. Sara doesn’t even know what department he works in. She figures the less she knows about him, the easier it’ll be to maintain her emotional distance.
Dante summons Sara into her backyard for a tryst by lighting a fire near a large cactus. He tells her that she is to show up naked, wrapped in an Indian blanket. Naked and primed, she waits, and then falls asleep only to wake up still needy. Still no Dante in sight, then suddenly she hears his voice from behind the cactus, teasing and playful.
DESERT TRICKSTER is a fast paced, exciting story regarding an old Native American folklore. Even though this a short story, I was pulled in by the exciting plot, practically hanging on every word and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. This is the perfect book if you’re looking for a quick read, and are interested in folklore and legends. Kathy Kulig does a beautiful job bringing folklore to life in this story. I highly recommend it. Also, watch for her short story ENCHANTED STONES, coming in October.
