The girls' dad has a heart attack that their mom calls an event. When the tests come back with the results that he is okay, they relax while their mom flits about making tofu turkeys and other healthy foods.
To top it all off, her best friend Jack seems to be showing up for many Saturday mornings with breakfast in his hands. Emily seems to enjoy it a little too much and it scares her.
DO ME, DO MY ROOTS is a story that took serious plot lines, added a wonderful cast of characters, a pinch of wit, and created a book that you can't put down. I love the loyalty that the girls shared. The nit-picky bickering was sisterly love in action. DO ME, DO MY ROOTS made me laugh and cry, emotions took over to turn the pages to the end. Eileen Rendahl fashioned a story that will be a keeper on my shelf.
