Growing up on a huge ranch and sharing hostessing duties with her two sisters had not prepared Emily Wilde for New York. Two years ago, Emily had gone east to become a world class curator at a world class museum or at least a buyer for a prestigious art gallery. But the New York art world did not see it that way. Being a Wilde turned out to be a hindrance since everyone thought she did not need the money since she came from such an affluent family. But unlike the rest of her accomplished family, Emily, the youngest in the family, lays awake nights wondering how she is going to pay her bills. Fortunately, no one in New York knows she is a Wilde since she changed it a year ago to Madison, using her middle name as her last, after seeing that her actual last name worked against her. She is determined to stand on her own two feet. So she spends her nights working at the Tune-In Café, where she is the entertainment Thursdays through Sundays, and hates it, although it isn’t the worst job she has had so far. Fortunately, this bar was just grungy enough that there was little possibility that her siblings and her father would wander in and see her there. As far as they knew, she was working for a private art collector, who insisted on remaining anonymous. So whenever any of her family came to town, she would meet them at a hotel and insist that her place was having work done on it. Although she knew she was lying to her family, she also realized how upset they would be if they knew the truth. As for her love life, she has pretty much given up on New York men as those relationships end almost as soon as they begin and she is definitely not a one night stand type of girl. But one night and one drunk too many and her temper gets away from her, resulting in the loss of her job. To make matters worse, the bus takes off in the driving rain before she can make it to the bus stop. But even in this predicament, she is very leery and scared when a strange limo stops after splattering her with water.

Marco Santini’s life is a rags-to-riches story and he had even been briefly married, until he discovered that his wife loved his money instead of him. He has managed to get to his current status in life alone and after this awful lesson, he figured he was not meant for love and his love life to this point has proven that fact. Today had been a nightmarish one for Marco. First, his six-month-old Ferrari, the love of his life, was stolen out of the garage, despite an endless array of high tech security gadgets. His personal assistant or PA left without giving notice – a recurring situation. Then he had been stuck with his money-grubbing date and soon-to-be ex-mistress, Jessalyn, who had whined because he had not won the diamond bracelet at the charity dinner they attended, even though he had bought an exorbitant amount of tickets at a thousand dollars a pop in the hopes of shutting her up. Finally, as he was looking forward to dropping his date off, his chauffeured Mercedes soaked a young woman standing on the street and when he tries to come to her rescue, she acts as if he is Jack the Ripper. But although logic tells him to drive away, honor will not let him.

Realizing that the stranger has a date with him, Emily finally relents. After dropping off his date, Marco takes Emily home, exchanging a mutually satisfying kiss with her at her door. The next day, she awakens jobless, with the rent due and humiliated over climbing all over her rescuer the previous night. But then she receives a call that Marco needs a piano player for the opening of his new project. When she presents herself to Jane in Human Resources, she soon ends up with the PA position instead. Although they agree to keep their relationship professional, neither one can forget the heated kiss they had exchanged nor can they keep from indulging in more stolen kisses. But on the way to a meeting in Paris, Emily realizes that her charming boss believes she came from poverty and he is enjoying introducing her to a lifestyle she’s never known before, or so he believes.  Working together, they become inseparable and she knows she is falling in love with him, but what will happen when he discovers that she lied about her background through omission and even her last name is false?

A deliciously sexy tale, EMILY: SEX AND SENSIBILITY, the first book in USA Today bestselling author Sandra Marton’s WILDE SISTERS series, is a witty, sensual contemporary romance that will steal your heart. Marco and Emily were perfect for each other and the chemistry between them nearly scorched the pages. I could not help rooting for a happy ever after for them. I was eagerly awaiting the next story about the Wilde family and this one more than met my expectations. As an avid fan of Ms. Marton’s work, all I need is to see her name on the cover of a book to make it a must read for me. Readers will quickly get caught up in this tender romance filled with charismatic characters, family dynamics, humor, secrets, witty dialogue, sizzling sensuality, romance, Paris and true love. This is the kind of book I like to read more than once; a definite keeper! I look forward to reading the next delectable WILDE SISTERS novel; JAIMIE: FIRE AND ICE, due out in the fall. In the meantime, pick up your own copy of EMILY: SEX AND SENSIBILITY. You won’t regret it!
