The people of the small town of Fairbrook are about to change and be changed by a very unlikely source.  When Renee Delaney discovered she was pregnant, she ran away from her foster family and struck out on her own.  Thankfully, a homeless man named Jesse pointed her in the direction of Fairbrook.  On his way to Fairbrook and his new post as the pastor of the local church, Craig Houston meets Jesse, a man who seems to be down on his luck.  With just a few words, Jesse makes Craig rethink his calling and the failed baseball career he left behind.  Shana is engaged to her high school sweetheart, but she is pretty sure he’s not the Prince Charming she thought he was.  When she returns home to Fairbrook, she meets Jesse while out running, and the simple things he says allows Shana to admit her true feelings.  Kristy Smith had her future all planned, until she got pregnant and ruined her and her grandmother’s plans.  Fortunately, Kristy and her grandmother were paid a visit by Jesse as well.

Fairbrook is a small town like many others.  It is filled with people who, behind closed doors, have secrets, wishes, dreams and desires.  ENTERTAINING ANGELS is the story of how one man comes to town and changes their lives.  Jesse is a simple man who doesn’t seem to say much, but the words he does speak stay with the people of Fairbrook long after he is gone.  Because of Jesse, lives are saved, marriages are mended, relationships are nurtured and love blossoms.

Judy Duarte’s follow up to her best selling (and equally amazing) MULBERRY PARK is lyrical in its breathtaking simplicity.  The problems facing these characters are so relatable and the solutions so beautifully resolved, you can’t help but be inspired by their stories.  ENTERTAINING ANGELS is truly one of the greatest books I have ever read, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Duarte comes up with next!
