Castle's EVERY LITTLE KISS, BOOK 2 in the HARVEST COVE SERIES, was once again an emotional read that tugged at my heartstrings! Emma and Seth had so many issues in their own lives to deal with and when there was immediate attraction and powerful chemistry neither knew what to do about it or with it. Neither knew what they felt let alone how the other person felt. Both were loners and focused on their work. Seth played things close to the vest whether about his family or his time spent in the military doing combat duty. Emma seemed to let loose and open up more often and was willing to let others in and form friendships but not if it meant losing someone close to her or losing control. There were family, friends, romance, love, hurt, anger, fear, flashbacks, memories shared, small businesses, secrets, parties, ceremonies and the feel of a small town. The descriptions were vivid whether of locations in the Cove or outside of it, motorcycle rides, the food or the love that was felt. I liked that the story flowed effortlessly from book one but could be a stand-alone book as well. Ultimately we have a happily ever after in the offing but the book ended too abruptly for me and didn't fit without the interactions from others that were needed. An epilogue would have been the icing on the cake or at least a few more chapters would have been nice. There was closure especially regarding some of the couples and I'm looking forward to returning again and again to this series.
Castle is a fairly new to me author after reading her first book in the HARVEST COVE SERIES, FOR THE LONGEST TIME. I look forward to reading her other contemporary novels and more in this series. There was an excerpt from BOOK 3, ONE OF THESE NIGHTS, which only whet my appetite for more!
