Angie Kane loves her hometown of LambertFalls and she is content with the way her life is going. She has a good job, a wonderful sister and a loving Uncle that has always been there for her. Angie is not the type of person who feels comfortable outside her structured routine nor does she deal well with any type of change; her life is on an even track and that is the way she likes it. That is why she is quite sure that she doesn’t want to have anything to do with the hunky Chris Montgomery, the new guy in town, because she knows that he won’t be satisfied for long with her simple outlook on life, the quite of Lambert Falls or with her choice to stay there.
Chris Montgomery has never had a place to call his own. He grew up in a military household that was always on the move and then he joined the military and traveled constantly. Now that he is a civilian, he is looking for a place to settle down and he plans to enjoy all the benefits of a permanent home. From the first the lovely Angie intrigues him, but it soon becomes apparent that she is not ready to trust the attraction between them. Chris tries to show Angie that he will always be by her side and that she can trust in him, but just when Chris thinks he has made progress, a friend from his past needs his help and Angie is left behind to decide whether to follow her dreams or follow behind Chris into the unknown.
FALLING IN LOVE by Pauline Trent is a beautiful story about a couple facing real life demands and tough choices. Angie is a fascinating woman and I enjoyed watching her grow as a person and take the risk to pursue her own dream. I loved Chris from the moment we first met him and I liked watching him support Angie and encourage her to go after her dream. The conflict they faced was heartbreaking and I was having a hard time reading the resolution because of the tears leaking from my eyes, but the hardships they had to work through made both of them stronger and proved that they did indeed belong together. I really enjoyed this story and recommend that you pick this book up at your first opportunity.
