Harriet Turner was on-her-own in unknown territory with a tour group of senior citizens. Her sister, Lara, did not show up at the airport to help her with the tour and nobody knew where she was. Her family was there to help, but there was something going on that Harriet could not figure out. Harriet met the star of the tour, Patrick Shawcross, and there was an instant attraction. She really liked him and he was fun to be with. Could this be love? Harriet had been hurt in the past and was not ready to be hurt again and there was the age difference. Did that matter? Also, where was Lara at? She had to find out what had happened to her sister and what the big family secret was.

Patrick Shawcross was taken with Harriet Turner from the start. He liked her laughter, sense of adventure and her smile. He knew that he was too old for her, but that didn't stop him from caring.

Ms. McInerney will keep you reading with FAMILY BAGGAGE. It is a book full of secrets and misunderstandings. Sibling rivalry plays a big part in it and with the lying and secrets you will keep reading and tears will come to your eyes. I really enjoyed this book and I know others will also. I will treasure it and will be looking forward to the next book by Monica McInerney.
