Delia Jenkins is really ill with a high fever, but she refuses to go home sick.  She must finish crunching the numbers for a proposal for her company, Lloyd Security Systems, by tomorrow.  Rob, her coworker, tells her to go home after looking at her work and finding a glaring error.  However, before she can leave, they bump into their boss, Jackson Lloyd.  He is not pleased to see Delia leaving, especially since her work is not completed yet.  Rob tells him that Delia is under doctor's orders to go home because of her fever.  Before leaving for home, Rob tells Delia that he will check on her later.

Delia arrives home, takes her medicine and promptly falls asleep.  She is awakened when she hears a man checking up on her.  She is extremely hot and needs to get her fever down quickly.  The man calls her doctor immediately.  He realizes that he has to get her fever down and attend to her needs even if he has to have sex with her.

FEVER is about two different people who come together in a very intense situation.  Delia is extremely sick, but that doesn't stop her from recognizing her caregiver and feeling safe in letting go.  He really does want her but has difficulty expressing his feelings.  It isn't until he sees how helpless she is when his male instinct to protect and help kick in.  I figured out the hero early on but he is not revealed until almost the very end.  The sex is pretty intense and sweaty (no pun intended).  I can't imagine having that much stamina while being sick but if my partner was as yummy as he was then I would not be surprised at Delia's libido.  FEVER is my first book from Kimberly Dean but I look forward to reading more from her.
