Danny Traveler is a former daredevil from Maine who has come to Mustang Ridge to try and heal from a devastating accident. She is camping out in Blessing Valley where she wants to be left alone. When Sam rides into her campsite on horseback, she believes he is the finest looking man she has ever seen. Danny decides that maybe getting to know Sam better might be a good idea. She is surprised at herself because since her accident she hasn't wanted a relationship. Danny's family in Maine keeps trying to get her to come home and help run the family business, but Danny is not sure whether she belongs there anymore.
This novel is a combination of healing, finding new directions in life and learning to trust again. This series, MUSTANG RIDGE, deals a lot with family issues, learning how to start over and trusting what your heart and mind tell you. I recommend this book to anyone who has had life experiences where a door closes but a window opens. Life happens whether we are ready for it or not and we just have to keep on going the best we can. I give this book 5 Blue Ribbons at Romance Junkies' website because it is a definite page turner that kept me going to the very end. The endearing gesture that shows Danny how much Sam loves her, is one for the ages. I will try to wait patiently for the next book in this series.
