Paloma Ravel is walking along the beaches of Malibu when she is swept along the currents.  Luckily, Pirate, an adorable three-legged, one-eyed dog and his owner, private eye and television personality Mac Reilly were watching from their home overlooking the beach and ran out to rescue her.  She has ulterior motives but is too shy to ask.  She wants him to investigate the disappearance of her mother, Bibi Fortunata, a famous celebrity who disappeared and left her with her aunt after she was accused of murder.  Now her stepfather wants custody and Paloma’s maternal family will do anything to stop him but they need to find Bibi before it’s too late.  Will Mac find help find her without upsetting Sunny?

FROM BARCELONA, WITH LOVE brings back one of my all time favorite couples with their lovable pets.  Mac with his sexy, no nonsense style and Sunny with all of her vulnerabilities but self-assuredness in who she is.  Set in Barcelona, Mac is suddenly confronted with his past and present when he has to help Paloma find her mother.  After years of being a confirmed bachelor, it takes a confrontation to make him realize how important and unique Sunny is to him.  All of the secondary characters and plots are weaved effortlessly into the book and I enjoyed how the old and new were brought in together.  The dogs and the kids hold a special place but you will definitely laugh at the story behind Cherrypop’s nickname.  Overall, Mac and Sunny are a couple who are perfect for each other and I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a good romance with a bit of mystery set in exotic locales.  You will not be disappointed.
