Jamie Swift is having one lousy two-week stretch. She figures that since she has been shot at in a drive-by shooting, almost blown up by a car bomb, and nearly devoured by an alligator, nothing else can happen to her. Of course, the bad spell might continue just a bit longer as she is standing in a phone booth in the middle of the night in the pouring rain needing to find a ride. But Jamie is on the trail of a great news story. Getting the scoop on a corrupt minister who has ties with the mob is just the ticket she needs to put her small-town newspaper on the map.

Handsome, millionaire Max Holt wants the minister too, and the gang of crooks behind him. Used to getting his own way, the generous playboy doesn’t want Jamie tagging along. Unfortunately, he quickly finds out that this determined woman has a mind of her own, and is an equal competitor in the stubbornness department.

With a dog called Fleas, a computer dubbed Muffin, and a hypochondriac partner named Dave Anderson, Jamie and Max follow a path that leads them into corruption, drugs, and murder. Along the way, they also find an attraction between them that sizzles.

Number One NEW YORK TIMES Bestselling authors Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes have teamed up to create a wonderful duo in FULL SPEED. Max Holt is the handsome rich guy that every woman would love to know and Jamie Swift is the perfect match with her sassy, take-no-prisoners attitude. She knows what she wants and she sets out to obtain it. The sparks between Max and Jamie just fly! After reading the prologue, this was one book I could not put down until I had finished reading to the last page. It was thoroughly enjoyable.
