Psychic Lara Wyland is used to dealing with negative comments from both the psychic community and the “normal” side of society. Her paranormal counterparts think she’s selling out by using her powers for financial gain, and the rest of the world thinks she’s a crack pot. Until they need her, that is. Enter Dexter Brantley.

“Dex the Hex” Brantley used to be the luckiest guy around. He had looks, charm, and the devil’s own luck, until a rash of misfortune fell on him like a plague of locusts. His last resort is calling the one person he mocked a few years back, psychic Lara Wyland. If anyone can break the curse that’s on him, she can. Even if she can’t, well, the press she generates will soothe some of the more skittish athletes that are dumping him as their agent.

Lara can’t resist the opportunity to prove herself not only to the cynic Dexter Brantley, but also to her mother and others of her ilk. Curing Dex will not only show she’s right about the way she uses her powers, it’ll also give her a financial cushion so she can take on more missing persons cases for free. It’s a win-win situation all around. Except, when she arrives on Dex’s private island in the Thousand Island region of New York State, getting rid of his curse becomes second to getting rid of his clothes! How can she be so attracted to someone who thinks she’s a fake? And how can she prove she’s the real deal when just being in the same room as Dex makes her powers go haywire?

GETTING LUCKY is a refreshingly charming story that will not only stretch the boundaries of what you believe is possible, it will entertain you the whole time. Lara is sexy and funny, and Dex’s befuddlement at his situation is downright amusing. Put the cynic and the psychic together, throw in some serious sexual tension, and you have a sure winner on your hands. As a reader, this is one book that makes me feel like I was GETTING LUCKY to get to read it.
