Prince Amir, Sheikh of Trakhar is an honest and fair man who takes great pride in his territory’s hospitability to tourists – unfortunately neighboring rulers don’t possess the same sort of ethics.  Amir’s not altogether surprised when he’s ‘gifted’ with a sex-slave for his personal use while visiting Bhutran to discuss the problematic border raids.  What surprises him is the woman’s defiant attitude – and the fact that she is a kidnap victim from one of the raids on his lands.

Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Denison may have been presented to Prince Amir as a willing sex-slave but she quickly clears up any misconceptions he might have as to the truth of the matter.  Unfortunately garnering her release won’t be as easy as she’d hoped.  Amir can’t risk jeopardize his negotiations just to remove her from this situation, instead she’ll have to pretend to be content with her position as Amir’s mistress and stay in his desert tent for a week.

While Cassie isn’t happy to learn that Amir can’t immediately sweep her away to safety she is grateful that he isn’t making the situation any more unbearable than it already is and even seems concerns about her welfare.  What neither of them expects is for their mutual attraction to each other to become impossible to deny.  Amir is determined to restore honor to his family name and Cassie is not just a foreigner but a foreigner who possesses a family scandal of her own.  A future together seems to be completely out of the question but that isn’t something either of them is ready to accept.

I admit it; I love sheikh stories.  There’s just something so regal and overbearing about their mannerisms that makes reading about a ‘commoner’ who turns his world upside down simply delightful.

Annie West more than fulfilled my expectations with her newest book GIRL IN THE BEDOUIN TENT.  Amir and Cassie mesh in a way that’s wonderfully captivating because both have such strong personalities and are haunted by family scandal.  Of course, the sexual tension between them definitely amps up the ‘gotta read’ factor but it’s their genuine love for each other that made me smile and made me sigh in longing.  No romance is complete (or worthwhile) without pitfalls, misunderstandings and an argument or two and Ms. West delivers on all accounts with highly enjoyable results.

If you’ve never read a book by Annie West then I’d recommend paying a visit to her website and checking out all the titles she has to offer.  I’ve read several of her books already and always look forward to seeing what will be available next.  Be sure to keep an eye out for her next release UNDONE BY HIS TOUCH which is due to be released in the U.S. in June.
